Code Worldwide has won the Media Planning Invention award for their “Game Changing Planning” in this year’s ‘Adweek Project Isaac’ awards, on behalf of their client PHD.
The annual Adweek Project Isaac Awards celebrate invention in media, advertising & marketing and technology. This particular award honours media planning invention, with judges seeking entries that highlighted technology’s transformational influence on the media business.
Code Worldwide invented the innovative media planning and operations system, Source, which fuses data with game-theory and social software to create a collective global operating system, ‘gamifying’ PHD’s media planning process.
The platform allows employees from around the world to submit campaign ideas for clients and witness their performance and reception on a live leader board. Source uses data to inspire and identify opportunity, reward collaboration and create a single methodology – effective both globally and locally. Constructed as a global multi-player game, Source is a ‘game’ in which employees win by, essentially, doing their job well.
The collaborative invention was built on the vision created by Mark Holden, PHD global strategy director, of how a network of 75 offices can use social technology, data and game-theory to transform media planning. Holden commented “We are delighted by the success of Source, created with Code. Source has revolutionised our planning process and helped PHD form a hugely effective and collaborative new way of working. So, this award rewards the intelligence that has enabled PHD to create a strategy and idea-generation system that foster incredibly powerful thinking.”
Matt McNeany, Code CEO comments: “Source shows us the future of how marketing and advertising will be managed. Big data, algorithmic optimization, a rich, emotive, playful user experience, all managed by a game that builds and celebrates a global culture of innovation and collaboration. We are really lucky to have a client like PHD that sets the bar high and challenges us to deliver real change.”
Ed Freed, Code COO comments: “When we designed Source with Mark and the Team at PHD we approached it utilising service design to create an engaging platform that transforms the way people work and communicate ideas. Through Source has dramatically enhanced the PHD value proposition to clients, leading to some significant new business wins. It’s fantastic to be part of their ongoing success, and continually evolve the platform.”
